Here is the ATXMEGA32A4U from Atmel (32K Flash, 4K RAM, 1K EEPROM), offered on a Breakout Board. This is a great device from Atmel to get exposure to the XMEGA family. With 5 USARTS, 2 SPI ports, 2 TWI ports, 5 16-bit Timer/Counters, and a USB port, this MCU is loaded with functionality. And did we say FAST? How about a clock speed of up to 32MHz (use the internal PLL to multiply your clock source to your desired speed)??? This is a low power, high performance device family, to say the least. And did we say USB??? Also, the chip comes preloaded with the Atmel USB DFU Bootloader, easily programmed using Atmel's FLIP software (all you need is a USB cable from the breakout board to the PC!).
