Overview:

This is our breakout board for the Globaltop PA6B GPS Module, an ultra-compact POT (Patch On Top) GPS Module. This POT GPS receiver provides a solution that is high in position and speed accuracy performances, with high sensitivity and tracking capabilities in urban conditions. The module can support up to 66 channels, and is suitable for all GPS-related applications, such as:

  • Fleet Management/Asset Tracking
  • LBS (location base service) and AVL system
  • Security system
  • Hand-held device for personal positioning and travel navigation

Also, the module firmware has been customized to support both Geofencing and Distance Calculating functionality. For the Geofencing function, the user can specify a point of origin and a given radius, and the module will indicate if the device is inside that radius or not. For the Distance Calculating function, the user specifies a start point, and the device will calculate the distance from the start point to the current position. Very handy functionality on-board to make your GPS applications simple to program!!

  • Max. Update Rate: up to 10Hz (Configurable by firmware)
  • Connect to board with either (Default baud rate: 9600bps):
    • UART (RS232)
    • USB
  • VCC: 3.2-5V supply voltage
  • LED indicator - steady on power-up, blink (1/sec) with position fix
